TEMA Furniture has been New Mexico’s premier source for contemporary furniture for more than 30 years. A division of TEMA, Inc., TEMA Furniture in Albuquerque, New Mexico, was founded in 1982 by Benny Kjaer. Our success has allowed it to expand several times throughout the years, and today our store provides full-service sales of contemporary style furniture throughout the United States.

Today, TEMA Furniture is owned by long-time partner and general manager Soren Thomsen, a Denmark native who has more than 35 years experience in the furniture business. Furniture aficionados will tell you that Denmark is known for its impeccable craftsmanship and alluring style when it comes to contemporary furniture.
Thomsen has taken his education and experience with Danish furniture and brought it to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Most of our furniture is made in America but you will notice our furniture also comes from a variety of places in Europe and Asia, including Denmark, Lithuania, Norway, Canada, Italy, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Malaysia—quality furniture from throughout the world.

Our staff manages a 33,000 square-foot showroom that features thousands of items on display. We are trained by the different vendors we carry to maximize our knowledge of the inventory we sell. As a small business local to Albuquerque, we are able to personally accommodate our customers.
